- "I'm listening with my ears and ogling with my eyes, okay!?"
- —Serena to Raye
Bad Harmony (WT: The Idol and Harmful Harmony) is the fourth episode of Sailor Moon S and the eighty-sixth episode in the series overall. The episode aired June 15, 2000 on Cartoon Network's Toonami.
Plot[]
Serena goes to Darien's house to give him some cookies, but looks at the cover of a book on classical composers without watching for the seal on her bag, causing the cookies to fall. Nevertheless, Darien eats them. Serena asks each of the girls to help her study, but they don't take her seriously. Meanwhile Amara and Michelle want to find the three Pure Hearts before the Heart Snatchers do.
Serena discovers Michelle to be an expert violinist and artist, and wants to play the violin for Darien. When an attempt at playing the violin proves unsuccessful, Michelle and Amara take her to a restaurant for some ice cream, and Michelle gives her two tickets for her and Darien to go to a concert. A violinist at the concert is Kaorinite's next target, and she implants a Daimon pod in his violin.
Amy, Raye, Lita, and Mina also go to the concert to apologize to Serena (minus Raye). During the performance, Raye reprimands Serena when she's focused on Darien and not the performance, but their arguing and drawing Darien and the other girls into the conflict is suppressed when the rest of the audience shushes them into silence, embarrassing the Scouts and Darien for making a scene and quickly getting them focused back on the performance. While the violinist is performing, his violin transforms into a Daimon Heart Snatcher named Octave, who puts the audience to sleep with her singing and steals the violinist's Pure Heart. The girls all transform and fight Octave, who attacks using her screechy voice.
After she is attacked by Tuxedo Mask, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune arrive, but refuse to work together with the Sailor Scouts. However, Sailor Moon saves Sailor Neptune from Octave's attack, and Sailor Uranus uses Uranus World Shaking on Octave before Sailor Moon destroys her with Moon Spiral Heart Attack. Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune return the Pure Heart to the violinist, as it is not one of the three crystals.
