Birth of Wicked Lady is the seventy eight episode of Sailor Moon and the fifteenth episode overall. It aired December 16, 1998 on Cartoon Network's Toonami.
Plot[]
Wiseman fills Rini's heads with false thoughts to convince her that Serena, Darien, and the other Sailor Scouts do not love her, and begins to turn her to his side. He reminds her of a time she fell over and Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion did not help her up, and tells her it was because they didn't love her. He also reminds her of a time that they and the other Sailor Scouts were unable to spend time with her on her birthday. Eventually, Rini is hypnotized and transformed into the evil Wicked Lady by Wiseman's dark magic.
After Wiseman introduces Wicked Lady to Prince Diamond, Sapphire expresses his suspicions that Wiseman was involved in the death of Emerald, using her in a twisted experiment. Diamond does not believe him. Diamond, Sapphire, Wicked Lady, and Wiseman all go to the past and plant a Dark Crystal there, which begins to grow in size. Sailor Pluto sends the Sailor Scouts, Darien, Luna, and Artemis into the past as well.
They are then attacked by Wicked Lady, whom they soon recognize as Rini through the Luna Sphere. Sailor Moon uses Moon Crystal Healing Activation to try to turn Wicked Lady back to Rini, and nearly succeeds, making her remember that Neo Queen Serenity, King Endymion, and the Sailor Scouts, on the occasion where they had seemingly forgotten her birthday, were actually throwing a surprise party for her. However, Wiseman, sensing it, hypnotized her again, telling her that she is so deprived of love and affection that she creates her own illusions of a happy childhood. They both leave, along with the Luna Sphere.
